Sooooo the Sugar Industry Blamed Fat and Paid Harvard Researchers to do so?
Maybe some of you have noticed, big news organizations NPR, The New York Times, PBS, and more have recently written articles about the sugar industry secretly paying for favorable Harvard research!?
Researchers have found documents that show the sugar industry tried to influence scientific studies in the 1960’s.

Two Harvard nutritionists were paid to to write a literature review aimed at countering early research linking sucrose AKA sugar to coronary heart disease…
These two nutritionists minimized the affects of sugar and maximized the affect of fat and cholesterol intake.
Which is exactly what the sugar association wanted them to do, so public opinion would be skewed.
Does this ring a bell for anyone? Similar to the tobacco industry attacking science and casting doubt on the deadly effects of tobacco to sway public opinion.
And to top it all off they never publicly disclosed the funding either!
I do have to say though these two researchers probably did think fat and cholesterol were the big two to watch at the time.
Now we know much better and that’s to look at the big picture where too much of all three is going to cause your problems.
We can’t call fat or sugar the devil all by itself.
Even though I would really like to call sugar the devil and ban it from the world…
BUT IT TASTES SO GOOD!
Lesson of the day, don’t believe everything you hear, even if a smart guy in a lab coat tells you so!
